About Fort Smith Mulching

Fort Smith Mulching is a locally owned land clearing outfit working rural ground in and around Fort Smith, Arkansas. We mulch standing brush and small timber, clear land, take out cedar and understory, put pasture back into grass, clear fence lines, prep building lots and driveways, cut trails and food plots on hunting property, mow rough fields, and grind stumps. One owner-operator runs the machine. The person who quotes your job is the person standing on it.

The tool decides the result. Our head is a drum with carbide teeth on it, running on a high-flow tracked carrier, and it turns a standing stem into chips without lifting anything off the ground. Wide rubber tracks keep the weight spread out. Compare that to a blade, which has to push a tree over at the roots and take the topsoil along for the ride. One method leaves your soil where it is. The other stacks it at the edge of the field.

Ground here is not one ground. The ridges south and east of town carry thin soil over sandstone, with oak, hickory, and shortleaf pine standing in open woodland. Along the Arkansas and the Poteau the terraces run deep and soft, and wet pockets there never really dry. A tracked machine handles both. A wheeled one picks a fight with one of them.

We carry Arkansas licensing and insurance on every job. We also say no. Big timber belongs to a timber buyer. A grubbed building pad belongs to an excavator. Rock belongs to nobody. Telling you that up front costs us a job now and again, and it beats charging you for something a mulcher cannot do.
